Biography
Dennis was raised in Jenkintown PA, a Northern suburb of Philadelphia. He was born with vision in just one eye, but developed an interest in making art at an early age. He studied painting with David Peas, department head at Tyler School of Art and at the University of Southern Colorado with Orlen Heligoe where he graduated with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts. Continuing on a creative journey, Dennis studied music at the University of Colorado in Denver and worked as a professional musician for nine years. In the late nineteen-seventies, Dennis developed an interest in computing, eventually pursuing a career in information technology.
Dennis has studied printmaking with Sheila Goloborotko and Dan Welden and completed extensive Adobe Creative Suite training at Future Media Concepts in New York City. Additionally, Dennis holds a Master of Science degree in Project Management and is an adjunct professor in computer science at Montclair State University and Bloomfield College in New Jersey.
After a more than twenty-five year career in information technology, Dennis is now a working printmaker, focusing on intaglio, videographer serving non-profit organizations, a singer-songwriter performing in New Jersey and an adjunct instructor in higher education.
Dennis is also the chairman of the board of directors for the Printmaking Center of New Jersey. He resides in Verona New Jersey, 18 miles West of New York City, with his wife Mary, three dogs and five cats. He has two grown sons, Patrick and Thomas..
